NESCBWI 2011

Harold Underdown giving the keynote address on Sunday
I've been very distracted by non-writerly stuff lately. So the NESCBWI conference came at absolutely the perfect time for me. I'd signed up ages ago, so had no choice but to go. I was only there Saturday night and Sunday, but what a lovely day and a half it was!

Highlights ... Meeting the wonderful Stacy Whitman of Tu Books, who has such infectious passion for multicultural children s' fiction, and attending her 2 part fantasy world building workshop. Watching a screening of The Library of the Early Mind. The upbeat Getting Unstuck workshop with Mark Peter Hughes. And of course hanging out and catching up with lots of writing friends.

It isn't long before the school year's done so I'm switching to warp speed writing mode now. Thanks NESCBWI for the energy, inspiration, and focus to get me back in the zone!

I was at the conference, too--I wish I'd knnown you were going so I could have met you in person! It really was an amazing experience...I'm all "pumped up" for writing again now, too.

Hi Faith,
I'm SO sorry I missed you! I was only there Sunday but it was really worth it. And I just got a full request from an agent today (guess she wasn't a "no response" after all) so I better finish that revision :)
