Taking a bit of a writing break to hang out with my father who is on a two week trip to the U.S. The kids are on Feb vacation too, so we took a road trip to Canada--Papa's seen enough of New York, Washington DC, Boston etc. And, yes, it IS possible to go to Canada in February and still have fun!
Brought along some manuscripts and got great feedback from Papa on my YA fantasy WIP, Katyani's Curse. Not his usual genre, obviously, but his critique was spot on. Go figure.
I did send out three and a half queries before we left. But I'm holding off on major querying until after the Kara Lareau workshop next Sunday. So looking forward to it!!! Hope her critique of the first pages of LEELA help me give them a final polish ... they've been revised so much I've lost all perspective. I've a horrible feeling that they look a bit like Michael Jackson's face after too many surgeries. However, the queries I did send have resulted in two fulls out with two great agents (Yay! Fingerscrossed, fingerscrossed, fingerscrossed ...)!!! Hope I haven't sent them out prematurely ... gulp.

Nandini,
Good luck on your querying! I'm contemplating a trip to Quebec in August--I've never been.
Thanks, Kris. You should go. Quebec is beautiful ... and more so in August than in February, I suspect!
So happy to hear about the requests. Fingers crossed!
Thanks, Yat-Yee! Haven't talked to you in ages. Hope things are going well with your writing! :)
Oh that picture is lovely. Yeah on the requests! So exciting! Good luck.
Thanks, Christina!
