Ready to NaNo!!

Yikes! Have I only posted once this month?? That's what happens when you attempt super-mom, domestic-diva, and pillar of society all at the same time!

So, it's been a sad, happy, busy, crazy kind of month.

Sad: An aunt who'd been ailing all September passed away, sending me further into blackest gloom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :-(
Happy: Long awaited visitors from overseas and out of town helped lift the gloom somewhat, as did a birthday party (Ravi's) and a holiday (Dusshera).
Busy: Trips to a new veterinarian for the menagerie. Trips to various touristy spots for the visitors. And baseball practice, and drama practice (Kiki's a very proud OompaLoompa, never mind my post-colonial reservations about OLs, but I guess I can live with it, as long as there are no grass skirts or something ...), and karate tests ... and you know ... stuff.
But all this procrastination is at an END because, **drumroll**, I've decided to NaNoWriMo! Yay!! I even made a LOL cat (the picture above) for my DO NOT DISTURB sign!! Let the fast drafting begin!!
Reading the leaves
People see pictures in hearth fires, passing clouds, even tea leaves, but have you ever seen shapes in tree leaves? It’s leaf peeping season in New England, a perfect time to imagine things in the foliage.
Can you see the T-Rex in this tree?
Like so …
Or Micky Mouse?
What do you see ...?
And here's a cool tree link--Melissa Stewart’s weekly observations of her maple tree on her blog, Celebrate Science. Check it out!
